Dan Cox receives final Aegon Championship Wild Card

Gosling Tennis Academy resident Dan Cox has won the fifth and final Wild Card at the Aegon Championships, at The Queen’s Club on Monday.

Playing alongside fellow Britons Andy Murray, Dan Evans and James Ward, Cox will be looking to put his favoured right hand play into practice. He is currently ranked ATP No. 225, winning his wild card with World No. 3, Stanislas Wawrinka and 2006 Wimbledon semifinalist Marcos Baghdatis.

Matt Willcocks, Director of Tennis at Gosling Tennis Academy:- “ Dan who is coached by Fran Lopez here at the centre has been given this opportunity as a direct result of the results he has got over the last 12 months. Dan has aspirations of playing on the tour every week and opportunities like this inspire him to work even harder to realise his aspirations.”

The Queens Club Aegon 2014 Championship includes many big names, including Andy Murray, Stanos Wawrinka, and the world No. 6 Tomas Berdych. Another budding star Grigor Dimitrov, who is the youngest player inside the world’s Top 20 will also be competing at the Championship.

Cox’s first match is against Adrian Mannorino at 16:30 on Monday 9th June.
